Do you wish we had a clubhouse with an old-fashioned bulletin board hanging on a wall, where you could use a push-pin to stick up a note to your neighbors, seeking help? Well, since that can’t happen, we’re trying a more modern route: Welcome to Serenade’s very own online Bulletin Board, where you can post your classified ad or request, for free — there is no charge. GUIDELINES FOR POSTING:

• Indicate clearly the category for your ad: Item for sale, item needed to buy, item to give away for free; OR service to offer for a fee or for free, service needed to hire, recommendation for a service.
• Keep your ad to a maximum of 75 words. The website editor may make minor changes for clarification, but will contact you first regarding those changes.
• You may include a maximum of 3 photos.
• If you are selling an item, indicate its condition (new, unused, excellent used, good used, fair used, poor used), color, brand/make and model (if known) or style, approximate measurements (if applicable),
• If you are charging for an item or a service you offer, state clearly the cost or hourly rate, or if there is no charge.
• No political or religious ads will be accepted.
• All ads will be screened and held to the strictest appropriate legal and moral standards. Serenade will only accept and publish ads that are acceptable to our community. The website editor will use her judgment in rejecting any ad. If your ad is rejected, you may revise it and resubmit it to be reconsidered for posting.
• Serenade residents ONLY may submit an ad for a relative or friend, but you must include your personal statement of recommendation or support.
• Business cards (print or digital) are welcome. They will be scanned and/or uploaded as is.
• Clearly indicate how and where you want the interaction with your neighbor for the item or service to take place — for example, at your front door, at their home, at your home, etc.
• You may include your name and either your phone number, home address, and/or email address in your ad.
• If you have concerns about your safety and exposure on the internet:
  • We recommend that you use your first name only in your ad.
  • You may omit personal information in your ad and indicate that all responses should be sent to the Bulletin Board editor at serenadeclubs55@gmail.com. She can communicate with potential contacts for you, and screen your responses.
  • You could consider meeting for the first time with the other party at a public place; perhaps you could meet at the church in our neighborhood. You are also welcome to meet for the first time at the Bulletin Board editor’s front door; email her first to arrange for a day/time.
